Anybody got a verse?

In pastor’s meeting today as an opening question I asked, “Who has a verse for us?”

 

The table was quiet for a couple of seconds and then Wayne spoke up.

 

This was the verse he shared:

 

For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

2 Corinthians 4:5

 

That was the perfect verse for pastor’s meeting.

 

It discloses our job description, our primary task, the key role that we play, and even provides the reason behind it all in the “for” clause at the close of the sentence.
