Following up on Missions

Following up on Missions

What a great missions conference we had this last weekend!

We heard and saw so much … here are some ideas for following up with prayer.

Missions – The Invested Life Making Disciples

Praise and thank God for the gospel.

and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. (Luke 24:46-48)

Praise and thank God for RBC, her 86 year old heartbeat for missions, and her current commitment to missions.

Saturday Breakfast & Sunday Dinner – Thanksgiving and supplication for each of those who presented their ministries to us.

Sunday Service

Use these prayer prompts from the sermon notes —

#1 Invest Wisely – the face of missions is changing

#2 Invest Generously – the cost of missions is rising

2 Corinthians 8-9. A heart the knows the grace of the gospel. A mind that plans to give (live according to a budget & live under your means). Generosity is the fruit of learning the skill of living below your income. Faithful, sustainable, sacrificial giving does not come from emotional appeals but from gospel-changed affections.

#3 Invest Personally – the risk of missions is worth it

Luke 5:27-32; Luke 15:1-7; Luke 19:5-10. Who are the modern day tax collectors and harlots? How can we get near them the way Jesus did? We are too risk averse in our personal relationships. How can we be more compassionate in befriending those who are least like us?
